Midwest mission staff

  • Chantel Corrie

    Executive Director

Chantel is living her passion and purpose as executive director of Midwest Mission Distribution Center. She was first called to serve as the director of development for the non-profit in 2015. Soon after, she felt God’s call to a connections position at First United Methodist Church in Springfield. “I learned and grew so much in every aspect of my life during the two years I served at Springfield First UMC, but most importantly, I became a truly devoted disciple of Christ."

God led her back to Midwest Mission at the end of those two years to lead the organization. “The vessel God uses to be his hands and feet at Midwest Mission is changing, but he will still remain in control. I am so grateful God has called me here to serve and help change lives through Jesus Christ."

Chantel was raised in Broadlands, IL and graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Human Resources Management. Chantel and her husband Brian live in the country just outside Chatham with their three daughters, Kerrigan, Makenna and Miranda.

Chantel's prayer for Midwest Mission: "Midwest Mission's light in the world continues to shine brighter and touch more lives for Christ."

  • sue zellers

    Executive Assistant

Sue Zellers retired in 2016 from her job as an AmeriCorps Program Officer for the State of Illinois.  She volunteered at Midwest Mission through her church, Douglas Avenue UMC, on a monthly basis and then as a weekly volunteer until she was offered a part time position in October 2019.  Sue has two adult sons, Greg and Nick, who both live in the Springfield area and three grandkids.  She enjoys going to the grandkids sporting events and spending time with her family and her rescue dog, April.

  • Lisa RIgoni

    Communications Manager

Lisa is the communications manager for Midwest Mission. She handles public/media relations and social media. She is available to speak to your group on or off site to share the mission and vision of Midwest Mission and how you can make a difference.

She and Mike - her "better half" - as Lisa calls him, celebrated their 30th anniversary in June 2021. They have three grown children, Kristian, Zach and Megan, who have each blessed them with a grandchild. Most recently, she worked from home as project manager and proofreader for Farm Journal from 2016-2021, wrote profiles on community leaders for the local lifestyle magazine, and actively coached fitness, life and health clients. The flexibility allowed her to help take care of Isla and Rocco, their first two grandchildren. Their third grandchild, Violet, made her arrival in January 2020. Lisa is excited that she gets to spend time with her most Tuesday mornings before heading to the office. The two older grands started their first day of kindergarten the same day Lisa started with Midwest Mission. "I fully believe that my being here was God-orchestrated. The timing and way it came about could have only been aligned by God."

Lisa's prayer for Midwest Mission: "I pray that the love, compassion and mercy of Christ is multiplied in ways we can't dream or imagine because of what Christ does through our work, volunteers and hearts for Jesus."
