HOST AN OFF-SITE EVENT

LET US BRING THE MISSION TO YOU

We have three off-site event options that you can host at your church or organization.

Click on the event you are interested in hosting to learn more.

  • You supply the space, tables, and volunteers and we will bring all the supplies to you (or you can collect the supplies yourself).

​

  • Off-site mission events connect congregations, grow teams closer together, and deepen discipleship. Just like going on a mission trip, hosting an off-site event creates a space where walls are torn down, community is shared, and memories are made, all while actively being the hands and feet of Jesus.

​

  • Your off-site event will impact those all around the world, and around the corner.

​

  • Together, we can be a bright light of hope and bring some joy to all of our lives by serving together. 

SCHEDULE YOUR OFF-SITE EVENT

Each off-site event must be scheduled with our Mission in Motion manager. He will work with you on the date of the event, the cost, and the plan for all of the details.

RICE MEAL PACK

THE RICE AND SOY BLESSING BAG

1 Blessing Bag feeds 6 people.

Ingredients:

  • Vitamin pack

  • Dehydrated vegetables

  • Soy

  • White Rice

These Rice and Soy Blessing Bags not only meet hunger needs, but meet nutritional needs to provide lasting energy. 

By hosting a Rice Meal Pack in your neighborhood, your church, or your business means more people like Grace* are fed.

 

She and her family will have a nutritious meal to help provide sustenance in their daily lives. It means that Grace will be able to lean into her education and concentrate on learning because her tummy will be full. Her mother will rest easier knowing that she was able to properly feed her children for the day. Grace’s father will be able to put in a full day’s work because he has the necessary nutrients to fuel his body for the manual labor ahead of him. Her baby brother will sleep well, because he is filled with a meal that, without your help, may not have been received.

*Grace is a fictitious name given to respectfully represent the stories of those who receive Rice Meals

THE EVENT

COST: $2 per bag (+ potential staff and mileage costs -- see options below)

 

YOU PROVIDE

  • Tables and space

  • Volunteers to set up and clean up after the event

  • Willing hearts and hands to assemble the Rice Meals

WE PROVIDE

  • Equipment, ingredients, gloves, hairnets, and beard nets.

2 OPTIONS TO RECEIVE THE SUPPLIES FOR THE EVENT

Option 1: You pick up the ingredients and equipment from Midwest Mission

  • 300-bag minimum

  • We provide a trailer for you to transport all supplies and equipment from Midwest Mission, to your location, and back to Midwest Mission

  • We provide training and instructional videos

Option 2: Midwest Mission delivers the ingredients and equipment and assists at your event

  • Within 100 miles: 600-bag minimum and $100 staff fee

  • Over 100 miles: 1,200-bag minimum and $200 staff fee

  • Round-trip mileage will be charged at the current IRS rate

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

Using one line of equipment, 8-10 people can pack approximately 175 bags in an hour.

Midwest Mission will notify you when the Rice Meals from your event have been sent and where they have been shipped.

PERSONAL DIGNITY KIT ASSEMBLY

THE PERSONAL DIGNITY KIT

Kit Items:

  • 1 hand towel

  • 1 washcloth

  • 1 adult toothbrush

  • 1 toothpaste

  • 1 bar soap (3-4 oz)

  • 1 shampoo (12.5-19 oz)

  • 1 deodorant (2-3 oz stick, roll-on, or pump)

  • 1 lotion (8-10 oz)

  • 1 1-gallon resealable plastic bag

  • 1 Midwest Mission drawstring bag

  • 1 prayer card

It's not often that we - or anyone we know - go without necessary hygiene items.

But, for many around the world, these items are a rarity.

Personal Dignity Kits provide needed hygiene items that empower people in their daily lives, and give hope that comes from Jesus.
 

THE EVENT

COST: $8 per kit (+ potential staff and mileage costs -- see options below)

 

YOU PROVIDE

  • Tables and space

  • Volunteers to set up and clean up after the event

  • Willing hearts and hands to assemble the Personal Dignity Kits

WE PROVIDE

  • All of the kit items

​

If you would like to supply the kit items, talk with Gene

while planning your event. You would not pay the $7 per

kit, but must buy items in accordance with our guidelines.

The Midwest Mission drawstring bag and razor would not be included,

but would be added later.

STUDENT KIT ASSEMBLY

THE STUDENT KIT

Kit Items:

  • 3 notebooks

  • 1 ruler

  • 6 pencils

  • 1 pencil sharpener

  • 1 pencil eraser

  • 1 box 12 colored pencils

  • 1 box 24 crayons

  • 1 pair of student scissors

  • 1 one-handled cloth bag

  • 1 coloring page/prayer card

Students around the world and around the corner do not have the resources to aid them in their education.

Our Student Kits allow students the chance to excel in their education because they now have items that will help them along the way. Getting a good educational experience allows students opportunities later in life that will empower them for years to come.

SUPPLY DRIVE

  1. Choose a Midwest Mission Kit to collect items for.

  2. Print the supply lists. You can find the full lists here.

  3. Share with your congregation, group, community, and on social media.

  4. Set a date range for people to bring your supplies to a specific location.

  5. Make arrangements to drop off the items at Midwest Mission or at one of our Permanent Collection Sites.
