Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day to our Midwest Mission family!

1 Corinthians 16:14 says, “Let all that you do be done in love.” We see that so evidently in you, our donors, volunteers, and prayer partners, who love so well. You sacrifice your time and resources to love those you may never meet. For that, we thank you endlessly.

With love,

Your Midwest Mission Family

5 International Shipments in 4 Days!

It’s been a very busy week around Midwest Mission. We’ve been waiting on shipping dates for several planned containers, and this week, five were scheduled.

On Tuesday, February 11, your generosity allowed us to ship a truckload of needed supplies to Mexico! We are excited to partner with Manos Juntas, through our partnership with the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission.

Manos Juntas works to provide better housing, healthcare, and educational opportunities for those in need in Mexico.

The shipment included:

  • 560 Personal Dignity Kits

  • 560 Student Kits

  • 70 Bikes

  • Tools, and mechanical equipment

  • Miscellaneous school, cleaning, and hygiene supplies

  • Blankets

  • 10 Twin mattresses

The value of this shipment was $98,841.00. And, it was delivered to the location where they will store items by Thursday night!

On Wednesday, February 12, a truck arrived at Midwest Mission to pick up the tractor you helped purchase for an Agriculture School in Honduras! It was so exciting to see it leave the campus. Within a few weeks, it will arrive in the country, hopefully just before the Midwest Mission team arrives in Honduras!

Please be praying that the shipping will go smoothly without any issues, and that the team will be able to see the tractor in Honduras.

The tractor was purchased, because of your generosity, in Iowa. The dealer also had a pickup truck available at a low cost. Our partners at Manos Juntas had been looking for a truck, and this was the perfect opportunity! So, we also picked up the truck for them in Iowa.

On Thursday, February 13, a semi-truck came to the Midwest Mission campus, and loaded the pickup truck for Mexico.

Friday was just as busy as the rest. At 8am on Friday, February 14th, a truck fitted with a  20-foot container backed into the loading dock, to receive the first Angels of Hope supplies of the year. This shipment is headed for Guatemala to serve children’s homes and orphanages throughout the country.

It contains:

  • 480 Home Care Kits

  • 280 Personal Dignity Kits

  • 20 Cover Them WIth Love Quilts

  • 6 Twin mattresses

  • 6 Bed Packs

  • 2,148 cans of disinfecting wipes

Value: $29,392.00

Finally, the last shipment of the week left Midwest Mission. This one, we had been waiting for several months.

Glenview United Methodist Church heard that Midwest Mission had previously sent a firetruck and ambulance to countries in need. So, they reached out to local fire departments to see if they would be willing to donate any vehicles or equipment.

The Niles Fire Department had an ambulance available, and said “We are honored to donate the ambulance.”

The community has been so excited about sending this ambulance to people in need. And, after two months, it is leaving the warehouse.

The ambulance will be delivered to the order of Malta in Guatemala, through our partner Food For The Poor.

We are so thankful that Glenview UMC took the step to reach out to their local department. And, we are thankful the community stepped up and answered the call! Because of your generosity, so many lives will be saved!
