Your students' used school supplies can go to children in need.

At the end of every school year, thousands of pounds of school supplies are thrown away, as students celebrate the end of the year and look forward to summer. But, the problem is, many supplies that are thrown away still have life to them! That notebook that only has a couple of used pages, the pencils and pens that still write, the scissors that are thrown away because they'll get a new pair next year — all of these items are so valuable to kids in Honduras who do not have the luxury of getting supplies every year.

Actually, many students in Honduras can't afford any supplies at all. Schools are also unable to provide supplies because there is no funding for the schools. Students lack the tools and resources that would help them excel in their learning environment.

But your school can help.

By collecting used (and new) school supplies, you can help give a second life to items that would normally be thrown away, and in turn, change the lives of students in Honduras.

How does this work?

Use the provided digital flyer and letter, digital banner, and social media post templates to promote your Used School Supplies Collection.
Set up a collection point in an ideal location in your school. Use clean boxes that can be sealed, or have lids.
Students place usable supplies in your collection box.

Bonus: As a service project for students who need service hours, you can have them pre-sort the supplies by combining like-items in boxes.
Once you are finished collecting, drop off your supplies at a drop-off site near you.
