A Season of Generosity

This past week marked the end of conference season, and what an incredible season of generosity it has been.

Today, the shelves and aisles of the warehouse are filled with Kits, wheelchairs, bikes, sewing machines, and countless beautiful handmade items. Our operations team and dedicated volunteers are already hard at work sorting and preparing these donations to be shipped where they are needed most.

Throughout the season, it was encouraging to connect with so many volunteers, donors, and prayer partners whose generosity and support make this ministry possible.

Here’s a snapshot of the season in numbers:

• 11 Conferences in 3 weeks

• 2 semis, 6 trailers, and 3 box trucks filled with supplies

• 9 staff members and nearly 50 volunteers

• Donations collected from 552 churches

Every item donated represents an opportunity to transform a life, bring hope and empowerment, and send practical support to someone in need. Thank you to everyone who purchased supplies, created handmade items, packed kits, and delivered donations. Your generosity will continue reaching people for years to come.

And a reminder for next year: you do not need to attend a conference, or be a United Methodist, to bring donations to these temporary collection sites. Everyone is welcome to take advantage of these convenient drop-off opportunities and be part of this mission.

Pray for Venezuela

On June 24, two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela, causing widespread devastation across parts of the country. As the death toll continues to rise and many remain missing, we mourn alongside those who are grieving unimaginable loss.

Our partner, Food For The Poor, is actively assessing the situation and gathering information to determine the most effective way to support those affected.

At this time, Midwest Mission has not been asked to send supplies to Venezuela. Before relief items are sent, the situation must be carefully evaluated to ensure that only the most needed items reach those impacted. Unrequested donations can unintentionally create additional challenges—requiring storage space, distribution systems, and resources that are already stretched thin. This is why Midwest Mission waits for specific requests from our trusted partners and responds based on identified needs rather than assumptions.

If we receive a request for assistance, we will share that need with you as quickly as possible.

As we await further updates from Food For The Poor, we invite you to join us in praying for the people of Venezuela — for those who have lost loved ones, homes, livelihoods, and a sense of normalcy, and for all who are working to bring relief and hope in the days ahead.
