ANOTHER Angels of Hope Shipment to Guatemala

March 14 2025 Newsletter

Angels of Hope Shipment to Guatemala

On Tuesday, March 11, a truck pulled into Midwest Mission, bright and early in the morning. It was pulling a 20ft container that would soon be on its way to Guatemala.

Like last week’s shipment, this was also an Angels of Hope Shipment.

While talking with our partner, Food For The Poor, it came to our attention that one of the things the children's homes would really like is toys. It so happened that we had several pallets of brand new toys donated by an anonymous corporate donor. So, we were able to add several boxes of toys, along with the normal Angels of Hope items.

The Personal Dignity Kits give the children hygiene items that they can call their own.

The Home Care Kits and disinfectant wipes provide sanitation to keep the homes clean and healthy.

The Bed Packs, mattresses, and Cover Them With Love Quilts provide a comfortable place to sleep for children who are new to the home.

Each item that goes with the Angels of Hope shipments has a specific purpose, geared towards children’s homes. Every item that Midwest Mission sends (Angels of Hope and other shipments) is specifically requested, to fulfill specific needs on the other side.

We are thankful for your overwhelming response to the requests we send out, and to the items in our Kits and Projects brochure. Without you, there wouldn’t be enough items in the warehouse to keep sending shipments! Thank you!

What’s Stitching — Sewing Group News

Midwest Mission is blessed beyond measure with talented volunteers who stitch, knit and crochet beautiful Baby Sweaters, Children’s Outfits, Cover Them with Love Quilts, Diapers, Day/Night Pads, School Bags and much more.

Please take a moment to see “What’s Stitching”!

Stitch n’ Go — Springfield, IL: Barb Needham reported, in addition to the many handmade items they send to Midwest Mission, their church also has two looms. They have been sending the sleeping mats they make using the looms to a local shelter for the homeless. Barb and Marty continually lead their group to support Midwest Mission with hand crafted items for those in need. God bless you.

Sewing Team at First UMC — Whitewright, TX: Mary Grant and her team recently sent 100 diapers to Haiti for HIS Home for Children using the pattern from Midwest Mission. Thank you for all you do to care for those in need.  Thank you, Mary, for continuing to serve at our location in Illinois as a Volunteer Leader.

Holy Stitchers — Watseka, IL: Darla Holden and her group are making much needed receiving blankets and have also started to send sewing notions to our Illinois distribution warehouse. Keep those blankets coming!
