God is Working Through the Mission

July 17th, 2026 Newsletter

One of our favorite phrases around Midwest Mission is "God moment."

It’s those moments when the right item seems to arrive at exactly the right time. We know they aren’t coincidences — they are reminders that God is already at work, preparing the way long before we can see His plan unfold.

Recently, we experienced one of those moments through a shipment to Honduras.

Back in March, several dental chairs in excellent condition were donated to Midwest Mission. Ramon Ortiz, Operations Manager, wasn't sure what we would do with them. Dental chairs weren't something we had ever shipped before, so the donation sat waiting while Ramon traveled to Honduras.

During the trip, the team visited a local dentist. Although the clinic had a dental chair, many of the attachments needed for routine procedures were missing. The dentist could perform basic cleanings and extractions, but much of the equipment needed for additional care simply wasn't available.

Ramon immediately thought of the donated chairs waiting back in Illinois.

He asked our partners, "We just received dental chairs in great condition with all the correct equipment. Would they be useful here?"

The answer came without hesitation:

"Yes!"

Those dental chairs had a purpose all along. We just didn't know it yet.

The first chair was shipped a few weeks ago and has now arrived in Honduras, where it is already bringing new opportunities for dental care. Then, on Thursday, July 16, the second dental chair left Midwest Mission as part of our 21st international shipment of the year.

That shipment also included:

  • 840 Personal Dignity Kits

  • 120 Home Care Kits

  • 7,200 Blessing Bags—providing enough food for 43,200 meals

  • 60 Sleeping Mats

  • Fire gear, including one Jaws of Life system

  • 12 Wheelchairs

  • 200 Canes

  • 3 Pallets of tools

  • Cribs and cots

As if that weren't enough, the day before we celebrated another shipment leaving the warehouse.

On Wednesday, July 15, our 20th international shipment of the year departed for the Dominican Republic, carrying resources carefully selected to meet medical needs in communities throughout the country. It included:

  • 23 Home Care Beds

  • 5 Hospital Beds

  • 125 Walkers

  • 34 Wheelchairs

  • 16 Shower Chairs

  • 410 Hospital Blankets

  • 1,350 Hospital Pillowcases

  • 1,370 Hospital Sheets

  • 18 Bikes

We praise God for His perfect timing. Time and again, He reminds us that He already knows the need before we do and faithfully provides the right resources at the right time. Thank you for being part of those God moments through your prayers, your generosity, and your willingness to give what God has placed in your hands.
