October 10th, 2025 Newsletter
Each week, we are amazed by God’s goodness. He continues to open doors, allowing more much-needed aid to reach the hands of people who need it most.
At the start of this year, our goal was to send 50 international shipments. With a month still left in our shipping season, we’ve already surpassed that goal — sending 54 shipments abroad, plus 149 state-side disbursements so far in 2025!
Praise God!
This week, two more shipments were sent out to international destinations.
The first shipment will be hand-carried to the Philippines by an Illinois Great Rivers Conference Volunteers in Mission team. The team will be traveling to the island of Bohol in April 2026. There are only two churches on the island, and the United Methodist Church has outgrown itself! So, they will be building a second church and parsonage.
While there, part of the team, including Deb Nuske (Midwest Mission Permanent Collection Site volunteer), will be teaching sewing skills. They reached out to Midwest Mission asking if we had any sewing machines available. They plan to teach sewing and then gift the church with sewing machines as a way to have a revenue stream. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, several refurbished sewing machines were ready to go. Our Inventory Specialist, Sarah Frazee, set them aside for the group, who picked them up on Wednesday, October 8 with overwhelming gratitude. What a blessing to be able to equip others with tools to build brighter futures! We look forward to hearing about the trip when they return.
The second shipment, sent out on Wednesday, October 8, was an Angels of Hope container — filled with supplies to bless children’s homes. This container is heading to Guatemala. Our operations team skillfully packed the 20’ container full of requested items. It’s heartwarming to think that each mattress, quilt, toy, and Kit will soon bring joy and comfort to children in Guatemala.
This container included:
480 Home Care Kits
560 Personal Dignity Kits
42 Cover Them With Love Quilts
6 Mattresses
6 Bed Packs
Toys
Sponges
Sporting Goods
Total value: $45,947.00
Please continue to pray that more containers become available so we can continue sending requested aid quickly and efficiently.
Thank you for your generous gifts of time, treasure, talent, and prayer — you make every shipment possible!
