Three More International Shipments This Week!

June 13th, 2025 Newsletter

Every week, things get more and more exciting! This week, three more shipments were sent to international partners. This makes 31 international shipments for the year!

There is so much beauty in a shipment. It’s the culmination of many hands’ work coming together to bless people we may never meet. A single desk is worked on by at least six or seven people before it’s ready to go out. A single Kit has been blessed by several people who donated towards and assembled the Kit. One Rice and Soy Blessing Bag is touched by ten people before it lands in a box. And, each item is prayed over several times before it leaves the warehouse! That’s why there is so much gratitude in each and every shipment. We know it wouldn’t happen without the hundreds of people who make each one happen. Every Kit, desk, pallet, and item is being shipped because of one of YOU.

Permanent Collection Site News

Midwest Mission has been blessed with volunteers across the Midwest who give of their time, energy and resources to assist us in carrying out God’s mission to help those in need.

Some of these volunteers use the facilities God has blessed them with to provide a donation collection point for needed supplies. These are our Permanent Collection Sites!

You can find their contact information at www.midwestmission.org/permanent-collection-sites.

What’s Happening @ Permanent Collection Sites?

Nebraska City FUMC, Nebraska City, NE – The Nebraska City First UMC was a key in getting a donation of bleacher wood from the Nebraska City Public Schools. The team responsible included Dean Thomson (contact for the Nebraska City Permanent Collection Site), Howard Orndorff (Volunteer Leader at Midwest Mission), Paul Stevenson, Tom Hall, and Jon Habben. When they heard about a potential bleacher replacement project at the local high school, they made sure to let the school know that people around the world could be impacted by their removed wooden bleachers.

Over four days, the team worked to take out the old bleachers, and get them ready to load onto a truck. Volunteer driver, Jeff Honold, drove from Midwest Mission Iowa to Nebraska City to meet the great team, and pick up the bleacher wood.

Over 475 full-length boards were donated. A Team from Nebraska City First UMC is at Midwest Mission in Illinois this week, and were ecstatic about the donation. A few team members even worked with the donated wood, and started the process of turning it into desks!

Thank you, Nebraska City, for your dedication in getting this wood! So many more students around the world will have a solid, sturdy space to work, which will aid in their education.

An article was published about this great endeavor in The News-Press. You can read the full article here.
