You did it! Midwest Mission Iowa officially owns its building in Jefferson — thanks to you!

When Midwest Mission began leasing a building just off the Jefferson town square in June 2023, we had no idea how quickly God’s momentum would follow. The small but mighty community of Jefferson welcomed us with open arms and fierce enthusiasm. What began as a Permanent Collection Site at Jefferson First United Methodist Church soon grew into regular Mission Events — and eventually, the opening of Midwest Mission Iowa.

And the impact has multiplied.

In 2023, the Iowa location brought in half a semi load each month. Today — just two years later — that number has grown to three full semis every month. In October alone, 123 unique volunteers stepped through the doors to serve!

God is clearly moving in Iowa. We knew this location was meant to be a permanent home where people from Iowa and surrounding states could serve, donate, and transform lives both around the world and around the corner.

Earlier this year, we launched a campaign to purchase the building we had been leasing. The annual lease cost of $46,800 represented over 100,000 lives that could be changed — if those funds could instead go directly to the ministry. Purchasing the building was the faithful, forward-thinking choice. And, because Midwest Mission is a debt-free organization, we knew we had to raise the money up-front to do so!

Our goal was $400,000 — and you showed up with incredible generosity.

In just eight short months, more than $150,000 was donated, and the Midwest Mission Board approved a $100,000 match from the Endowment Fund. With $250,000 in hand, our Board of Directors and Executive Director, Chantel Corrie, approached the Greene County Development Corporation (GCDC), the current building owners, to ask if the sale price could be reduced.

After thoughtful conversations, GCDC graciously agreed to sell the building to Midwest Mission for $250,000 — allowing us to purchase our Iowa home outright!

As of October, the building is officially ours.

We are deeply grateful to GCDC for their generosity and for championing Midwest Mission Iowa from the very beginning. Their partnership has helped establish our ministry as a trusted presence in the Jefferson community.

To everyone who gave, prayed, or encouraged this effort — thank you! What began as a nudge from the Holy Spirit has become a powerful testimony of God’s goodness and provision.

We are overjoyed by the impact you are making through Midwest Mission. Because of you, countless lives will be transformed.

Midwest Mission Needs Your Help to Pack 25,000 Blessing Bags for Jamaica

We plan to pack 25,000 meals that will feed 150,000 people. Will you help?

Our partner, Food For The Poor, is on the ground in Jamaica, and they have shared that their biggest need is food.

Because of this, Midwest Mission will be sending an entire 40’ container full of Rice and Soy Blessing Bags — that’s 48,000 bags that will feed 288,000 people. 

Thanks to partnering churches and organizations hosting Blessing Bag Packs at their locations in November, we will have about 23,000 bags coming into the building in the next month. To complete the requested shipment of 48,000 bags, we still need 25,000 bags.

So, Midwest Mission will be hosting Blessing Bag Packs at both locations (Pawnee, IL and Jefferson, IA) to assemble all of the meals! 

There are two ways you can help meet this need:

1. Donate to Provide Meals

We need to raise $50,000 to cover the cost of the 25,000 Blessing Bags. We are 32% of the way there! Help us reach the goal so we can send all 25,000 needed Blessing Bags!

2. Volunteer to Pack Blessing Bags

Join us at Midwest Mission for a 2-hour shift and help assemble meals for Jamaica. There are volunteer shifts at our main location in Pawnee, IL, and our second location in Jefferson, IA. These shifts take place on Thursday, November 20, through Sunday, November 23.
