This Tuesday, we sent out our 7th international shipment of the year to El Salvador! This shipment was made in partnership with Food For The Poor (FFTP), an organization Midwest Mission regularly works with to send needed supplies around the world.
The recipient of these supplies is a new FFTP partner, World Vision. In El Salvador, World Vision focuses on supporting children, youth, and vulnerable communities through programs such as disaster response, youth development, protection initiatives, and child sponsorship.
This shipment will support their work by providing materials to help create safe, supportive spaces for development across physical, emotional, social, and spiritual areas. It will also equip community leaders and organizations to protect and care for children in sustainable ways.
Let’s take a look at the contents of the shipment:
57 Tarps
46 Chairs
21 Rolls of Fabric
36 School Desks
560 Student Kits
4 Home Care Beds
34 Electric Sewing Machines
620 Hospital Blankets
3 Treadle Sewing Machines
38 Sleeping Mats
30 Bikes
69 Crutches
54 Twin Bed Mattresses
54 Bed Packs
752 T-Shirts

The total value of these supplies is $75,450.00.
We are able to send hope and empowerment to those around the world and around the corner, because of people like you. Whether you packed a kit, donated resources, helped load the shipment, or shared about Midwest Mission, you helped others experience the practical love of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for helping us send hope, one shipment at a time!
You Can Make ‘Sew’ Much Impact!
A group of dedicated volunteers at Oak Creek Community UMC recently turned creativity into impact. The Going to Pieces Fiber Artists created 200 one-handled bags for Midwest Mission — bags that will soon be filled with essential and life-changing supplies.
This project began with a generous donation of heavy-duty fabric scraps from a company that installed window treatments in their fellowship hall. From there, the group hosted two sewing days in January and February, spending time sorting, cutting, ironing, serging, and sewing. In addition to those gatherings, many volunteers contributed extra hours working from home to complete the bags!
These one-handled bags play an important role in our mission, helping us package and distribute Kits to those in need around the world and around the corner. Each bag represents not only practical support, but also care, dignity, and encouragement for the one who receives it.
Inspired by their work? You can help, too.Â
Midwest Mission is currently in great need of more one-handled bags to keep up with the demand for Kits. Whether you’re part of a sewing group, a church, or simply enjoy crafting on your own, this is a meaningful and accessible way to make a difference.Â
You can find the instructions for the One-Handled Bag here: https://www.midwestmission.org/patterns.Â
Gather fabric, invite others to join you, and start creating!
